Answering Your Trauma Training Questions

Cognitive Processing Therapy, or CPT, as it is often referred to, is a cognitive behavioural treatment that was developed in the 1980s. It aims to help patients dealing with PTSD by reducing symptoms related to a variety of traumatic events.

These experiences may include child abuse, combat, rape, and natural disasters.

CPT is endorsed by the U.S. Departments of Veterans Affairs and Defence, as well as the International Society of Traumatic Stress Studies, as a best practice for the treatment of PTSD.

Our trauma training is designed to teach CPT to a range of healthcare professionals who may be faced with complex trauma cases. This includes clinical psychologists, mental health practitioners, social workers, and community workers.

The workshops are delivered by practitioners from PsychPD, clinicians with years of hands-on experience using CPT with real clients.
