Dr Sarah Stewart
Sarah has worked as a clinical psychologist for the past thirteen years and is skilled in providing clinical supervision. She worked for many years as a lecturer and placement coordinator for the postgraduate clinical psychology program at Australian Catholic University, where she contributed to a high-quality training program for the next generation of clinical psychologists.
She has particular expertise in the supervision of early career psychologists, helping to foster their confidence and competence as therapists through a warm, non-judgemental relationship. Her approach to supervision is reflective and relational, and she enjoys helping supervisees deepen their clinical formulation and understanding of their clients to support meaningful psychological intervention.
Theoretical frameworks that inform her clinical work (primarily working with perinatal patients) include CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for the treatment of PTSD, attachment theory and schema therapy. She has a keen interest in infant mental health and has completed additional training in Circle of Security Parenting (COS-P) and Masterson’s work on development of the self/core sensitivities.
